Overbeck - Tulip Tree

The Arts & Crafts Press

This letterpress-printed poster was made for the special portfolio set created with Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), using their archival images of Hannah Borger Overbeck’s watercolors. Known for their Arts & Crafts aesthetics the Overbook sisters produced beautiful mat glazed pottery in the early 20th century.
The most artistic of them all, Hannah produced many exquisite watercolors of flowers, shrubs and trees that were indigenous to Indiana where the sisters lived and worked together.

We at the Arts & Crafts Press hand-separated each color of the original watercolor, created multiple linoleum color blocks for printing, and printed them on acid-free paper.
